How about a feel good paper for once? This team at Oxford uses advance math to predict the future of energy markets. The costs of solar, wind and batteries keeps decreasing, they will displace fossil fuels sooner than expected!

Une reine est morte. Un nouveau roi est appelé à régner. Araignée? Quel drole de nom! Pourquoi pas libellule ou paipllon?

Greasing the Q-Bit. In French, "graisser le bit a Q". In the IETF, "greasing the cue-bit", because, you know, not enough cues around...

Looking for a blogging server that does not rely on ads. Willing to install some software, but the whole of wordpress was a bit too much. Recommendations?

Still working on Internet Congestion control after all these years, implementing L4S for QUIC in Picoquic. Upside: if L4S works, we could end up with a low latency Internet, without sacrificing performance and without requiring QoS.

I work at a ccTLD (.IS), and lately we are seeing a *lot* of new accounts immediately registering multiple domains that all had been registered in the past. I suspect we're not the only ccTLD that sees this.

We know of at least two instances of this being used to take over social media accounts that had e-mails in expired domains set as backup e-mail addresses.

This seems to be organized and well-resourced.

Please double-check you don't use e-mails in any expired domains anywhere.

This morning an update to an Ubuntu VM destroyed my SSH connection. Now, that. The industry is getting worse after I retired.

The IETF mailing list has a discussion about "potable e-mail". I wonder what these guys are drinking...

And now #DNS working group. Let's start with Sara Dickinson presenting (remotely) #DoQ (DNS over #QUIC). DNS over TLS is boring, DNS over HTTPS is too mainstream, let's do it over QUIC. The world needs more protocols for encrypted DNS :-)

OK, I had to look past the front page. The second page shows me four potential candidates, writefreely, friendica, plume, hubzilla and socialhome. Now I have to try at least one of them...
